SO-002 investigator-initiated clinical trial: Subject enrollment completed

Regarding SO-002 (a candidate drug for ALS treatment) from SOCIUM Inc.’s pipeline(https://socium.co.jp/drug_discovery/), the investigator-initiated clinical trial being conducted at Sichuan University Huaxi Hospital (Principal Investigator: Professor Shang Huifang) has reached its target enrollment of 20 participants following screening and monitoring in accordance with the trial protocol.

This means the target enrollment was achieved in approximately half a year. We believe this early achievement is due to Professor Shang Huifang’s global renown, the enthusiastic support of the participating doctors and CRO; and the scale of Huaxi Hospital.

The upcoming schedule includes an interim analysis following the completion of the 24-week treatment period for the final enrolled participants, followed by a 24-week observation period. Furthermore, we will carefully analyze the clinical trial results with the aim of licensing out the candidate drug.

Guided by our mission to “Drug discovery for patients with no drug, Drug discovery for patients with ineffective drug”, we are working diligently to ensure that our drug candidate—which inhibits TDP43 aggregation for the treatment of ALS—reaches patients as soon as possible.
